/01/26 Thurs.  Happy New Year to all family and friends. Up to watch the firework display which lasted about 15 minutes but was very good, then bed for 3 hours sleep. Both Ana and Ella were flying back to Manila this morning, so I took them ashore in the dinghy at 0430 hrs.

/01/26 Thurs. Nothing much has been happening except thunderstorms, wind and torrential rain for a week, another boat dragged anchor and narrowly missed hitting a moored boat. Ana flew back this evening and I met her just after 2200 in the yacht club.

/01/26 Sat.  Ana is continuing the sewing of John's trampoline.

/01/26 Sat. Another cruise ship in today, first time we've seen this one, the Luminara, owned by Ritz-Carlton and only launched in July last year. A 14 day cruise from Singapore to Hong Kong will set you back $23,000 per person so I don't think we'll be booking tickets any time soon.

/01/26 Mon.  A loud explosion this morning which we felt through the deck of the boat, caused by a Chinese rocket launch - the fourth in the last few months.

/01/26 Thurs. John's trampoline completed and handed over to him for fitting.

/01/26 Fri.  Strong winds for a couple of days which make sleeping a little awkward because of the rigging noise. Forecast to last until Monday.

/01/26 Sat. We went to Robinson's Mall today to visit the Immigration Office for visa renewal but they were closed, so a wasted trip!  Have to go again on Monday.

/01/26 Mon. Immigration again, filled in the forms, paid the fee and have to come back yet again on Thursday to collect the visa.

/01/26 Tues.  A huge column of smoke from the town today, emergency vehicle sirens wailing for hours.........it turned out to be the public market on fire and it's done a considerable amount of damage to both the market and the shops across the road.

/01/26  Thurs.  Temperatures here in PP have plummeted over the last week or so, I think because of low pressure areas moving south from China. Normally I sit in the cockpit each morning with my coffee, wearing just shorts and watch the dawn come up, but today I had to wear a t-shirt and a hoodie with the hood up! Collected my visa from Immigration before going into town for a bit of shopping.
